AI SCREENING ROUND
So we started where the hours go.
The screening round is the most repeated hour on any desk, and the first one done badly under volume. Every applicant now gets the same structured conversation — what they owned, what they can evidence, what they expect to be paid, when they can start, and why they are moving.
Three candidates. Same questions. Different answers.
Consent is captured in your words before anything records. It runs as real-time voice or turn-by-turn, falls back to audio only on a weak line, and accepts written answers where typing suits the question better. Switch candidates below.
1Background & role match
Your profile lists you as lead on the order platform. Tell me what you personally owned, and what sat with the teams around you.
Arjun KumarI owned the order ingestion service end to end — the design, the on-call rota, and the two engineers on it. Fulfilment and payments were separate teams. I set the contract between us, but I did not build those.
Owned ingestion end to end; excludes fulfilment and payments rather than claiming them.

2Depth of ownership
What volume did that service actually carry in production, and were you the one on call for it?
Arjun KumarPeak was about 8,000 orders a minute during sale events. I was primary on call for eighteen months and I handled four Sev-1 incidents myself.
Specific production volume and named on-call duration, not general claims.

3Compensation & notice
What is your current fixed compensation, and what are you expecting for this move?
Arjun Kumar₹28 lakh fixed today. I am looking at ₹34 to ₹36. Notice is 30 days and my manager has agreed to release me early if the offer lands by month end.
Ask sits just above the band, and the notice period is already pre-cleared.

4Intent to join
What is driving the move, and are you in process anywhere else right now?
Arjun KumarI want a platform rather than a single service, and promotions are frozen where I am. I am at final round with one other company, but this role is my first preference because of the scope.
One competing process at final round — move fast or lose him.

SHORTLISTING & EVIDENCE
A conversation nobody can defend is just an opinion.
So every score traces back to a sentence someone actually said. Skill match, depth of ownership, compensation band, notice period and compliance are weighed deterministically against your job description. Move the sliders to watch the ranking recompute.
INTERACTIVE JD WEIGHTING
Configure Role Priorities
Adjust the competency sliders to see how candidate scores and rankings reorder deterministically in real time.
Strongest distributed systems evidence, salary well within ₹30L budget band, 30-day notice fits hiring cycle.
And four rules that keep the number honest.
An AI score a hiring manager cannot interrogate is worth nothing to them, and indefensible to a candidate who asks. These are design constraints, not settings.
The model never sets the score
Every competency is recomputed from its own question scores, weighted by question. The model's evidence and summary are kept; its arithmetic is discarded. Unanswered questions count as zero.
Communication means structure, not accent
Scored on whether the answer addressed the question, was organised and was specific. Never fluency, grammar, accent or delivery — that would charge a transcription error against the candidate.
Integrity flags never touch the score
Pauses, tab switches and time away are reported to you and excluded from scoring by design. Each of those signals has innocent explanations more likely than the guilty one.
A person closes the round
The recruiter confirms or overrides every outcome before a candidate moves stage, and the decision is written to stage history with the evidence attached.
WHERE TO NEXT
The screening round is one stage inside a full ATS.
